crash different.

Brilliant video here. And it's funny because it's all true.

froogle goodness.

I'm apparently a little behind on this, but I just discovered the magic of Froogle today and started putting together a wish list. Seems pretty useful to me, especially since it's tied in to my Gmail account. Check out my current must-buy items!

shirley likes hockeytown?

Doing a quickie Google Image search for the Hockeytown logo, I found this beautiful picture. Who knew? One of my favorite artists (Shirley Manson of Garbage) donning a Red Wings garment (the 'Made in Hockeytown' brand). Nice!

why the united states doesn't get hockey...

Saw this in the sig of someone on the LetsGoWings message forums and I thought it aptly explained why people in the United States don't get hockey:

"We as a society have ridiculously short attention spans. Why does football draw the top TV ratings among North American sports? Well, I'll tell you. They play for eight seconds and then take a rest. One play, eight seconds, and you can go the fridge and get another beer or flick the channel to the golf. In basketball, they drain 100 baskets, nobody has to watch until the last two minutes. There's no drama until right at the end. And yet you never hear much complaining about the product. Down the floor, basket. Instant gratification. Down the floor, basket. Instant gratification. So? That's gripping stuff? I tell you, there's no patience anymore. It's all attention span. It's this 'Please me, please me' mindset of sports fans in North America."
ESPN's Brian Engblom loses patience with complaints that the Stanley Cup final is too dull

new tree!

Danielle and I went out and got a new Christmas tree yesterday, a nice 6' fiber optic model. Has color wheels in the base to rotate the colors, it's pretty neat. We also picked up a string of LED lights to wrap around it as well. But the crowning achievement is the star...it's so delightfully tacky! I love it!
